Here's friend's band playing:

Just recorded their first EP, and I love it :) Similar to 30 Second to Mars and Feeder.

I have no idea why I haven't added this earlier, but Immortal's recent release: All Shall Fall! The old guys still rocks the hardest!

Post Re: Album recommendations?
Bought myself 3 new albums this week, thought I'd share 'em with ya!

Image
Negator - Panzer Metal
Modern, German black metal, absolutely heavy sh't! Less melodic than say oldies like Dissection and Bathory, and more like Marduk's latest. Still a total metal blast. For fans of Behemoth, Gorgoroth and Marduk.
Listen >> Panzer Metal (title track)

Image
Order of Ennead - An Examination Of Being
Melodic (and a bit progressive) death/black metal, with a touch of Behemoth, Mastodon, Immortal and Hypocrisy.
Great album that surprised me in many ways. Excellent riffs and guitar solos come out as an extra icing on the cake.
For fans of any death metal, really.
Listen >> The Scriptures of Purification

Image
Thulcandra - Fallen Angel's Dominion
A sticker on the cover said "a melodic black metal legacy for fans of Dissection", and it couldn't have been more spot on.
For anyone looking for a band to fill the emptiness left in Dissection's absence, stop looking. This is your treat.
Sounds so much like the former Gothenburg masters of black metal that it could, at times, easily be mistaken for a new secret album from them. But this is not Dissection, this is Thulcandra, and it's awesome. It's melodic, it's raw and it's freaking metal! 9th and last track on the album is even a cover of Dissection's classic 'The Somberlain'. Realise how awesome these guys are.
For fans of Dissection, old Dimmu Borgir, Darkthrone, Bathory and Marduk.
Listen >> Everlasting Fire
